$500,000.00 dollar Poker Tournament

Casino Canberra will hold a poker tournament over the long weekend in June that will carry a prize pool approaching $500,000.00. The tournament called ‘PokerStars.net ANZPT Canberra’ is a part of the very successful Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) is expected to attract over 200 players from around the region. Peter Cursley, Director of Marketing of Casino Canberra believes many of the region’s poker clubs will buy a seat or two in this major tournament and run their own club tournaments with the winners earning a seat in the June ANZPT Tournament.

Casino Canberra will run weekly tournament each Thursday and Friday starting between 7.30pm and 8.30pm where the winners of these satellite tournaments can also win a seat in the big one.

The cost to enter the major tournament will be $2,200 but from just $110 to enter the satellite tournaments.

ANZPT is part of the PokerStars series of tournaments that include the European Poker Tour (EPT), Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) and Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT). Each tour stops at the world’s most exclusive destinations to play for huge prize pools, giving players the ultimate live poker experience.
